A typical day of work starts with a plan of the day and what was expected of us. I cleaned our spaces in the morning and continued on throughout the day with daily maintenance on the 5 Inch 54 caliber gun, made sure that my co-workers knew what needed to be done and what materials were needed to complete their tasking. When we completed our work we gave a helping hand to other departments in their daily work. The hardest part of my job as a technician was the lack of manpower that my division had. We had to work extremely long hours to complete all of our work because we were shorthanded. The most enjoyable part of my work was seeing the end result of doing preventative maintenance when the gun fired successfully.
